Here goes!

Well, here goes! I have tried for quite awhile to get a blog going and I am finally making it happen. I am a wife, mother, and teacher that loves to cook, and I am constantly looking for ways to save money. I am a Christ follower who desires a closer walk with Him day by day. I have titled this blog All That Glitters.... because in life, I have learned that things are not always what they seem. Learning to be satisfied with what I have is far better than seeking what someone else appears to have. In fact, I don't even want to just be satisfied with what I have. Instead, I want to work consistently to improve who I am in each role that I have in life. All of that said, I choose to use this blog for several things. I want to include recipes for both food and household items, tips for teaching literacy as well as classroom management, daily lessons in life that I am learning through my study of God's word, and finally, I want to include thoughts on being a wife and mother in a world that does not always encourage women in those roles. The greatest promise that God has given me in life comes from Jeremiah 29:11. He knows the plans that he has for me. They are plans of prosperity and not harm, of hope and a future. However, I choose to read on. Jeremiah 29:12 makes it very clear that to grasp those plans involves me seeking God with all of my heart!
